Rabat Day Trip: Tangier → Rabat → Tangier

Early morning pickup from your Tangier hotel or riad. Drive comfortably along the highway to Rabat (~2.5 hours), arriving by mid-morning.

Meet your local private guide — a native Rabati — and begin in the Oudaya Kasbah: wander its blue-and-white lanes, visit the historic mosque and minaret, relax in the serene Andalusian Gardens, and enjoy panoramic views over the Bou Regreg River and Salé.

Continue to the Old Medina, known for its relaxed, hassle-free souks. Walk to the Mohammed V Mausoleum (a masterpiece of traditional craftsmanship) and the adjacent Hassan Tower — the unfinished 12th-century minaret and Rabat’s most iconic landmark.

Visit the Royal Palace (Mechouar) entrance to admire the ceremonial guards and lush gardens.
